• May photos 367 Mountain Valley Hospice will host their annual walk and 5K run to support their programs and services in the Fulton, Montgomery, Hamilton and Saratoga county areas on Sunday, May 17th beginning at 10am.   The walk, which has been held in years past, will feature a memory wall and balloon release to commemorate those whom we have lost. The events will be held on the campus of Fulton-Montgomery Community College and is being sponsored by NBT Bank, The Leader Herald and FMCC.
  • This year’s event will again include the second annual 5K which will be part of the 5K Triple Crown series.  Runners can still register for individual races at a $25 fee or all three races for $60 until April 30th at midnight. (5kTriplecrown.racewire.com). Day of run registration begins at 9am with the run beginning at 10 am.
  • Walkers can register for free and are encouraged to get sponsors and collect pledges. You can register on the day of the event beginning at 12 noon.   You can register in advance online by going to www.mvhcares.org and clicking on the special link. All necessary forms are available there.Stewart’s will provide free ice cream sundaes at the walk event beginning at 1pm. DJ Rich Nice will also be providing music for the day!  Everyone is welcome to bring a photo or share a written memory to display on the memory wall.  There will also be gift basket drawings and face painting.The schedule of events is as follows:9am run registration; 10am 5K run begins; 11am run awards; 12 walk Registration; 1pm Memorial Celebration followed by walk; 2:30-3pm prize drawings.  For more information or to have registration forms mailed to you, please call our office at (518) 725-4545.

 

  • A Memorial Wall will be available to  remember loved ones. Feel free to bring poems, pictures and sentimental notes to display.
  • Teams of co-workers, families and friends are encouraged to participate.
  • The Walk/run will take place on a flat / handicap accessible surface around the college campus and will be held rain or shine.
  • Walkers will choose their own total walk distance. For this reason, it is recommended that pledges be solicited based on participation as opposed to distance.
  • No pets, smoking, roller blades, bicycles, etc. will be allowed.
  • Pledge forms and money should be brought with you on May 17th or delivered to MVH any day before 4:30pm prior to the event.

  • Thank you for expressing your interest in becoming a hospice volunteer. The following information is necessary in making our volunteer assignments and in utilizing your talents and skills to the fullest. We ask that all volunteers make a year commitment to working with our agency.

    Questions related to age, gender, religious affiliation and marital status are asked only for purposes of identification and matching volunteers with patient/families. However, volunteers are selected without regard given to factors.
